2025 Impact Report

Scholarships

Opportunity Access Inc. provided 4 scholarships in 2025 totaling to $2,000 USD to support Jamaican students pursuing higher education in Jamaica. Our scholars represent a range of schools, majors, and parishes across the island. Each award recognizes students who demonstrate academic commitment, financial need, resilience, and a dedication to community service. Through this scholarship, we aim to ease financial barriers and empower the next generation of leaders as they work toward their educational and professional goals. We were able to support our first ever scholar with the Delrona Henry Memorial Scholarship. This award is granted to a student who not only shows academic promise, but also demonstrates social commitment, particularly those pursuing careers in areas like social work, community development, education, hospitality, or related fields  aimed at giving back to community.

Community Events

Opportunity Access Inc. has actively fostered educational equity and professional growth through a diverse range of community-driven initiatives. From engagement at Brooklyn Community Day to the Jamaica Diaspora Northeast Conference, the organization has focused on bridging the gap between students and the resources they need to succeed. Opportunity Access Inc. hosted large-scale scholarship sessions for over 200 students and led workshops on personal branding and social capital at major universities, our goal has been to empower students across the diaspora to leverage their cultural identity and networks. Through strategic partnerships and mentorship-focused webinars, we continue to build a resilient community dedicated to academic excellence and shared prosperity.

Partnerships

To amplify our impact, we have prioritized strategic partnerships that provide both support and tangible resources to students in need. Through our collaboration with the Jamaica Diaspora Mentorship Academy, we have seen firsthand how professional guidance fosters personal development and career clarity for scholars like Kayla Bogle and Dejanae Fagan. In response to the devastation of Hurricane Melissa, we joined forces with the Ignite Jamaica Fund, the Global Jamaica Diaspora Youth Council, and Melbourne Motivation to launch relief initiatives, which included hosting a fundraising Game Night and delivering essential care packages and laptops to students at Browns Town Community College. Furthermore, our involvement with the Inspired Horizons Collective allowed us to engage directly with youth at Excelsior High School, where we collectively donated 38 laptops. These partnerships—ranging from mentorship to disaster relief—underscore our commitment to equipping students with the tools and community support necessary to reach their full potential.
